Import DocuSign™ Templates to Xodo Sign

Created by Apryse Bot, Modified on Wed, 15 Apr at 8:14 PM by Kelly Revilla

Xodo Sign lets you import templates directly from DocuSign, making it easy to migrate existing workflows. Imported templates work the same as templates created natively in Xodo Sign.

Note: Some fields and settings have limited compatibility. For example, reminder on/off settings are preserved, but specific timing or frequency is not imported.

How to import a DocuSign template

  1. In your DocuSign account, go to your Template list.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the template you want to export, then click Download. The template downloads as a JSON file.
  3. In Xodo Sign, click Import Templates in the left navigation menu.
  4. Click Import file and upload the JSON file. Only JSON files are supported.
  5. The template imports automatically. Any incompatible fields or settings will appear in the Warnings panel.
  6. The imported template is saved as a draft. Click View imported template to review it.
  7. Click Continue to edit roles and files. Click Prepare to adjust signature fields.
  8. When ready, click Save or Save & Use to add it to your Active Templates.

Compatibility notes

Most template features are supported. The following participant types are not imported: agents, editors, intermediaries, notaries, seals, and witnesses. In-person signers are imported as regular signers, and certified deliveries are imported as CC recipients.
