How to Set a Signer PIN for Documents

A Signer PIN adds extra security to individual signers on a document. When enabled, the signer must enter the correct PIN before they can begin signing.

How to add a Signer PIN

  1. When creating a document and adding signers, click Enable next to the authentication prompt for the signer you want to protect.
  2. In the popup that appears, choose PIN Method and enter the PIN (minimum 4 digits).
  3. Click Enable PIN Authentication to confirm.
  4. Continue preparing and sending the document as normal.

Important: Share the PIN with the signer through a separate communication channel — not through Xodo Sign — so they can use it to access the document.

How to edit or remove a Signer PIN

  1. Open the document and click Actions.
  2. Select Edit & Resend.
  3. Click Proceed.
  4. Click the authentication button for the signer you want to update.
  5. Make your changes, then resend the document.
