In the Prepare step of Xodo Sign, you can add different types of fields to your document for signers to fill in. Here's a quick overview of each field type.

Signature fields

  • Signature — Where signers place their signature. The default size is the recommended minimum; making it smaller may cause signatures to appear very small.
  • Initials — Where signers place their initials. Same sizing recommendation as Signature fields.

Auto-filled fields

  • Date Signed — Automatically filled with the date the signer completed the document. Not editable by the signer.
  • Full Name — Where signers enter their first and last name.
  • Company — Where signers enter their company name.
  • Title — Where signers enter their job title.
  • Email — Where signers enter their email address. You can enable email validation in the Field Validation settings.

Text and input fields

  • Text — A standard text input field that can be resized. As a No Signer field, it can be used to add pre-filled text to the document.
  • Checkbox — Useful for accepting terms and conditions or capturing yes/no answers.
  • Radio Button — Lets signers choose one option from a set of choices.
  • Dropdown — Like radio buttons, but uses a dropdown menu — ideal for saving space with multiple options.

File upload fields

  • Attachment — Where signers can upload one or more files.
  • Image — Where signers can upload an image, such as a stamp, photo, or floor plan.
