A common workflow for many organizations is to require an approver (such as a manager) to review and approve a document before it is sent to the final signer. While Xodo Sign does not have a dedicated "approval" feature, you can easily achieve this using Signing Order and the Reassign function.
How to Set Up an Approval Workflow
Step 1: Create the Document
- When creating your document, enable Signing Order.
- Add the approver as the first signer (before the actual signer).
- Add the final signer as the second signer.
- Send the document.
Step 2: Approver Actions
The approver receives the document first and can take one of the following actions:
- Sign the document - If they approve the content, they sign it. The document then moves to the next signer automatically.
- Reassign to someone else - If the approver cannot approve it personally, they can reassign the document to another approver.
- Decline the document - If something is wrong, they decline it. The final signer will not receive the document.
Step 3: Signer Receives the Document
The final signer only receives the document for signing if the approver signed (approved) it in the previous step.
