Whether you received a signature request by email or were asked to sign in person, this guide walks you through the full signing process. No Xodo Sign account is required to sign a document.
Step 1: Open the document
Click the signing link in the email you received from Xodo Sign. The document will open in your browser.
Step 2: Review the document
- Scroll through all pages to review the content before signing.
- Optionally, check the Hide Fields checkbox (top left) to temporarily hide signature fields and read the document more easily.
Step 3: Complete the fields
Click Start (top right) to begin. The button will guide you through each required field:
- Next Step — Click after completing a required field to move to the next one.
- Skip — Appears for optional fields only. Click to leave a field blank and continue.
- Finish — Appears when all required fields are complete. Click to finalize.
Step 4: Confirm and submit
After clicking Finish, you'll be asked to confirm your signature. Review the summary and click Confirm to complete the signing process.
You'll receive a PDF copy of the completed document by email once all required signers have signed.
Troubleshooting
- Fields are not visible: Make sure the Hide Fields checkbox is unchecked. If fields are still missing, contact the sender — they may not have placed the required fields in the document.
- The signing link has expired: Ask the sender to resend the signing request or extend the document expiration date.
