Default Session Lifetime and Session Cookie Lifetime

As part of our commitment to industry standards and account security, we’re making an important update to our session management. We’ve reduced the session duration and cookie lifetime to enhance the overall security of your account.

Starting now, the default session lifetime is 2 hours. This change helps protect your account by reducing the time an unattended session remains active.

Also, the session cookie now expires when the current browser session ends.

What does this mean for you?

Here’s what you can expect:

  • More Frequent Logouts: If you’re inactive for 2 hours, you will be automatically signed out of Xodo Sign. Additionally, if you close your browser window while logged in, your session will end immediately, requiring you to sign back in when you reopen the platform. It is important to note that closing your Xodo Sign browser tab will not log you out automatically; you will only be logged out if you close the entire browser window.
  • Increased Security: By shortening the session timeout, we reduce the risk of unauthorized access in case you accidentally leave your session open on a shared or public device.

To minimize disruption while working, we recommend saving your work regularly and logging out when finished to avoid losing progress. If you’re actively working within Xodo Sign, your session will remain active until you’ve been inactive for 2 hours. Just keep an eye on the time if you step away.

🔐 Adjusting the session timeout

At this time, it is not possible to adjust the default session timeout in your account or business settings. All Xodo Sign users currently have the same default session lifetime of 2 hours. We understand that some users may prefer more flexibility, and we’re always working to improve our platform. If any updates are made regarding session timeout customization, we will make sure to update this information in our Help Center.

If you have any questions about this update or need assistance managing your sessions, feel free to reach out to our support team. We’re here to help you with anything you need.

Keeping your data and personal information secure is our top priority, and this update is one more way we’re ensuring your account remains protected.
