How to Download and Export Documents

You can download a copy of any document from Xodo Sign at any time — whether it's completed, in progress, or still a draft.

Download a completed document

  1. In the left navigation, click Documents.
  2. Click the Completed tab.
  3. Find the document you want to download.
  4. Click the Download PDF button on the right side of the document row.

Completed documents include a Certificate of Completion — a tamper-evident audit trail with signer details, timestamps, and IP addresses.

Download an in-progress document

  1. Go to Documents and click the In Process tab.
  2. Click the document name to open it.
  3. Use the Download option inside the document view to export the current version.

Download a draft

  1. Go to Documents and click the Drafts tab.
  2. Click the draft to open it.
  3. Download the uploaded file from the document view.

What's included in a downloaded document?

Completed documents include:

  • The signed PDF with all signatures and completed fields
  • A Certificate of Completion — the audit trail with signer details, timestamps, and IP addresses

Troubleshooting

If the Download button is missing or the file fails to download:

  • Make sure your browser is not blocking pop-ups or downloads.
  • Try a different browser — Chrome or Firefox are recommended.
  • Confirm the document has a Completed status. Partially signed documents cannot be fully downloaded until all signers have signed.

If the issue continues, contact Xodo Sign support.
