If a signer reports that they cannot see the fields they're supposed to fill in, here are the most common causes and how to fix them.
Cause 1: Fields are assigned to the wrong signer
In the Document Editor, each signer is identified by a color. Fields must be assigned to the correct signer. If a field is assigned to Signer 1 (blue) but you placed it while Signer 2 (red) was selected, Signer 1 will not see that field.
Fix: In the editor, check that each field's color matches the correct signer. Use the field assignment dropdown to change which signer owns each field.
Cause 2: Fields are set to "No Signer" (grey)
Grey fields in the editor are No Signer fields — they are pre-set by the sender and cannot be edited by any signer. If you accidentally placed a signer's field as grey, the signer cannot interact with it.
Fix: Reassign the grey field to the correct signer in the editor.
Cause 3: Text entered outside of fields
Any text typed directly into the editor canvas (outside of a field box) will not be visible to signers. Only content placed inside assigned field boxes is shown during signing.
Fix: Always enter signer-facing content inside the appropriate field boxes.
