How to Decline to Sign a Document

If you receive a signature request and don't wish to sign, you can decline it. This notifies the sender so they can take next steps.

How to decline

  1. Open the document using the link in your signature request email and click Review & Sign.
  2. On the signing page, click the Actions menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Decline.
  4. In the confirmation popup, enter a reason for declining if prompted.
  5. Click Confirm to submit your decline.

The sender will be notified that you have declined the document.

Note: The option to decline may not be available if the sender has disabled this feature. If you don't see the Decline option, contact the sender directly.
