If a signer reports that they cannot see the fields they are supposed to fill in, there are a few common causes related to how the document was prepared.
Cause 1: Fields Are Assigned to the Wrong Signer
In the Document Editor, each signer is assigned a color. Fields you place on the document must match the color of the signer who is meant to fill them in. If a field is assigned to Signer 1 (blue) but you placed it using Signer 2 (red), Signer 1 will not see that field.
Fix: In the editor, make sure each field's color matches the correct signer. Use the field assignment dropdown to change which signer owns each field.
Cause 2: Grey Fields Are "No Signer" Fields
Grey fields in the editor are No Signer fields - they are set by the sender and are not editable by any signer. If you accidentally placed a signer's field as grey (No Signer), the signer will see it but won't be able to interact with it - and may even miss it entirely.
Fix: Reassign the grey field to the correct signer in the editor.
Cause 3: Text Entered Outside of Fields
Any text typed directly in the top-left text area of the editor (outside of a field box) will not be visible to signers. Only content inside assigned field boxes is shown to signers.
Fix: Always write signer-facing content inside the appropriate field boxes.
